Dear Rekkie Team,

I can't believe it's been over a year since you generously sent me a package. I wanted to finally reach out and share a story that perfectly illustrates why I'm such a fan of your product.

A couple of years ago, I found myself stuck waist-deep in snow at Breckenridge after making the poor decision to cut through a treed area to what I thought would be an easier slope. As someone who learned to ski at age 50, I occasionally overestimate my abilities! After removing my skis, I quickly discovered that every step sank me deeper into the snow. Before long, I was buried up to my waist and unable to get myself out.

I called ski patrol four separate times, but they couldn't locate me. Eventually, I called my son, who happened to be skiing a much more difficult run elsewhere on the mountain. Thanks to his Rekkie goggles, he knew exactly where I was. He skied directly to my location and found me almost immediately.

The relief I felt knowing someone could find me was incredible. My son's laughter when he actually saw me stuck in the snow is another matter entirely!

Thankfully, I eventually army-crawled my way out, dragging my skis and poles behind me until I reached a groomed trail where I belonged. Looking back, I probably would have gotten out eventually, but having my son know my exact location gave me tremendous peace of mind. In my experience, ski patrol couldn't find me—but Rekkie goggles could.

That experience made me appreciate your product even more. I originally purchased the goggles as a gift for my son because he loves downhill skiing and is a self-proclaimed tech nerd. He absolutely loves them. Even though he's the only member of our family who owns a pair, the rest of us still join his group on the app, which is exactly how he was able to locate me that day.

I tell people about Rekkie every chance I get. Whenever we're riding a ski lift and someone notices the battery pack on the side of my son's helmet, they inevitably ask about it. He proudly replies, "They're Rekkie goggles—and they're amazing." He even claims they've clocked him at 72 mph. I sincerely hope that number is slightly inflated, along with his ego.

I live in Ohio, but my sons and I travel whenever we can to explore different ski resorts. Despite my age and skill level, I've enjoyed skiing Park City, Canyons, Snowbasin, Snowbird, Vail, and Keystone. I've only visited Whistler and Jackson Hole during the summer, but they're on my list. While I'm not surprised that I don't see many Rekkie users in Ohio, I am surprised that I don't see more out West. I truly hope your company continues to grow and refine an already fantastic product.

After all, Rekkie didn't just help my son track his ski stats—it helped him rescue his mother.

Thank you again for everything, and please keep doing what you're doing.  I've attached a photo of my son and I on a lift.  I can't locate the photos of me stuck in waist-deep snow at the moment.

Warm regards,

Laura W.
